Enhanced behavioral health services will debut next Monday at a dedicated 24/7 crisis- and urgent-care center in east Winston-Salem.
DayMark Recovery Services provides a variety of mental health and substance abuse services in Forsyth and several other counties. It has moved its local offices from the county Behavioral Health Plaza to the Cardinal Wellness Center at 650 Highland Ave., Suite 100.
Cardinal Innovations, the state’s largest behavioral health managed care organization, said the “new configuration of services meets the original goals of members, hospitals, law enforcement, first responders and stakeholders for crisis and integrated care while providing a coordinated full continuum of care, including 24/7 access to crisis services.”

The Cardinal Wellness Center is scheduled to open by early April. It will feature community educational initiatives and support, as well as work space.
DayMark Recovery Services’ emergency clinic will shift the weekend of April 23 from the county Behavioral Health Plaza to the Highland center.

In 2016, 11 Harnett County residents died from overdoses of opioids or heroin. The number soared in 2017 to 20 deaths.
That’s when Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats said he decided to be proactive against the opioid crisis on his doorstep.

With the recent opioid crisis sweeping the nation, and more specifically, Davidson County, local medical professionals are hoping to give concerned residents more information about what’s driving substance abuse.

Partners Behavioral recently announced the opening of its all-in-one mental health facility at 518 Signal Hill Drive Extension.
The facility, set to open fully in the fall, provides patients with mental health issues, substance abuse and intellectual developmental disabilities the ability to receive the same-day help for physical and mental conditions.
